Dear English Students who are struggling (which is all of you whether you know it or not...),
English is like a roller coaster ride. At least I think. We didn't have those in France during my time and I'm much too old to ride one of those things now. Back to the roller coaster analogy! English is like a roller coaster. There will be ups and downs, but just know that the pain is temporary. To be honest though, English is great. They say too much of a good thing is a bad thing, but English is the exception. You only have to go through it 4 years of your life so bite the bullet and just go with it! You might actually learn something if you listen up and participate in class discussions! Maybe then you will come to love English and end up like me!
I hated English too when I was your age. I didn't want anything to do with English so I decided to follow my father's line of work and open that small wine shop with my wife! Then one day, an extraordinary man stopped in and wrote a book involving my wine shop! His name was something like Charley Sicken or something like that. It's been a while... Once I read that book, I fell in love with English and I used that passion to fight in the Revolution. After I got out of that mess, I decided to leave the wine shop business to become an English Professor. Now look at how I turned out! I've lived for hundreds of years and I'm still fine!
So if we're looking for the underlying meaning of this letter (which isn't very hard since it's basically the whole first paragraph), one would see that English is not that bad! If you still hate English, drop out of school and go to a mental institution because something is wrong with you. I hope this has swayed your feelings about English class! Now go out there and annotate books and poetry! Long live English!
